// INPUTS
Contribution increases by this % each year.
// OUTPUT
FUTURE VALUE
₹86,83,849
TOTAL INVESTED₹38,12,698
ESTIMATED GAIN₹48,71,152

// FORMULA

// FORMULA
For each month m, compound the running balance:
  Balance ← (Balance + P_m) × (1 + i)
P_m grows by (1 + step%) at the start of every year.
i = annual return / 12. Contributions are treated as start-of-month.

// EXAMPLE

// WORKED OUT
₹10,000/month, 12% return, 10% yearly step-up, 15 years:
  Total invested ≈ ₹38.13 lakh
  Final value     ≈ ₹76 lakh+

// WHAT THIS MEANS

A step-up SIP mirrors how income grows. Because each year's contribution is bigger than the last, but each rupee also has fewer years to compound, the final corpus depends on the balance between rate of return and rate of step-up. The step-up almost always beats a flat SIP if it tracks your income growth.

// FAQ

Should step-up be higher or lower than expected return?+
Either is fine — the calculator just answers the math. As a rule of thumb, set step-up to your expected income growth so SIP stays a similar share of take-home pay.
Does the step-up compound on the new amount or original?+
On the previous year's amount. A 10% step-up on ₹10,000 → ₹11,000 → ₹12,100 → ₹13,310 …
